e-mail Amanda Dickinson | After noticing that there are more than 20,000 members on this forum, I decided it was a good place to appeal to everyones love of animals. We have been caring for an abandoned domesticated cat who had kittens in our barn. Our children have chosen a kitten each, and I have repeatedly advertised the remaining 3 kittens and mother on the site, so that they can go to a good home. So far I have only had one response from some one who was considering taking the mother cat, who has since given backword. We really need to find a home for these beautiful animals, I don't even think there is an animal refuge nearby to take them to, which seems such a sad thing to do after them having their freedom. If anyone is willing to take a kitten or the cat, please, please get in touch by e-mail or on 05 46 98 22 01

Most of us have probably taken on our fair share, I have homed 2 dogs and 2 cats so far, and I know there are many other who have done the same. One lady has even opened a refuge for unwanted farm animals and donkeys etc to save them from their fate.......so I guess we are all 'awash' with the huge numbers so needy. I really wish you luck. keep trying, Im sure you will find a kind 'petless' person soon!!!! |
| Ma & Pa Kettle replied on 03/11/2009 at 16:46 e-mail Ma & Pa Kettle | Jasmine is spot on, much as most of us do love animals, with 4 cats already I really don't want anymore and most of my friends have 2 or more as well.
I hope that you are able to find homes for the remainder soon, if I hear of anyone looking for a cat I will refer them here.
Kind Regards, Anna

We recently had 3 kittens close to death dumped on us, 1 died, 1 we found a home for - by expanding our horizons - there are an awful lot of French people out there, we called all the Vets in Niort and Poitiers and asked them to put up signs and keep a look out, as a result we have had over 10 calls from French wanting kittens. One we kept.
we live in a village of around 100 people and this year we reckon that over 20 kittens were born here, many later this year (unusually) it's a problem all round. |

I apologise if you thought I was being mean, I meant it to come over as "surprised" that with so many members in the forum, that I had only one response for the mother cat. I was heartened by your comments about the advert at the vets and shall target our local surgeries. I hope the kitten brought you hours of pleasure.
Amanda
