| tomatohead replied on 07/11/2009 at 11:39 e-mail tomatohead | Went along last night - was superb. Best night I've had at the Dixie for a long time. The place was packed (for a change) and the crowd were soon up dancing and singing. I don't think I've experienced a night like that here in the middle of nowhere before ;-)
The band were excellent (apart from a rather dubious attempt at "I Love Rock and Roll" in response to some heckling), right up until their guitarist broke a string (but it was almost midnight so ...)
Great band, and a great atmosphere for once in the Dixie. Hope to catch the band (Cousin Worseoff Funky Monkey ???) again. Graciewoo, if you hear of them playing again in the North 16/South 86 please let us know.
Oh, and WHO ARE THEY?? "Cousin Worseoff" or "Funky Monkey"?? can anyone explain?

The drummer gave a brillant performance with the ragga rapping! But to be honest the rest of what they played was a bit lost on me as I didn't know many of the songs. They are obviously a band who like rock, a bit too heavy for me but that's not to say they weren't good!
I've been told that the last time they played at Dixeyland the music was a bit more varied. I'll give it another go the next time they play anyway just to see. It was a good night though!
