HELP!

Grandad & Grandma arrive next week to visit their 2 1/2 yr old grand daughter........we live in a small house and the weather forecast remains dismal!

Any suggestions for in-door days out/activities other than Kizou or swimming or shopping?

The aquarium in la Rochelle followed by shopping in the gaps between showers - can recommend lunch at La Marée, diagonally opposite aquarium, through the park.

monkey valley if it stops raining long enough; the paths are ok to walk on after rain

Perhaps the big indoor swimming pool complex in Angoulême, Nautilus - signposted off the N10 the same exit as for the plan d'eau

take them to the Auchan complex in Poitiers where, for €2 + €2 deposit your little girl can drive round in a car/shopping trolley - my 3 yearold grandson adored this

How about a drive up to one of the Loire chateaux, perhaps Aizé les Rideaux or Villandry - if you fancy this, email me and i'll send you details of the troglodyte village and willow weaving co-operative in the area

Also, just remembered the free zoo at the Bois St Pierre near Smarves, on the Gencay/Poitiers road - again good paths, lake and picnic areas, inc some picnic areas under cover - thatched huts!

You could visit the Chocolaterie Letuffe at Trois Palis near Angouleme where you can make your own chocolate. call 1st as you may need to book 0545 910521
