Hi to all

Very stressed back here in the UK having received a call from my partner saying that MERCKX our 5 year old Black Labrador ran off from him this morning in the area of Mortier / Limort which is close to Clussais La Pommeraie. He followed a female looking Chasse type dog (the brown and whitish ones) who was obviously on heat. This was at 10am this morning Sunday 29th April.

We have contacted the Hope Association and will speak to the Mairie as soon as possible but it is now shut until 4th May (holidays??)

I have emailed and contacted all our friends nearby to be on the look out and we have produced a poster with Merckx's photo and phone numbers on it to be delivered to all the houses and farms.

He is a very large Labrador with a red collar and friendly. His dog tags have our french address and telephone numbers thereon. He is also chipped.

I can appreciate now how upsetting this is (now that I am in a similar position) when I read about other peoples plights.

Please be on the look out around Marie Levescault, L' Orangerie, Bellevue, Clussais, Pommeraie, Limort as these are all places Merckx goes on his walks.

can you also let the gendarmes know as I believe they sometimes deal with stray dogs - and aso the petrol stations at Super U, Melle (various) and Lezay Intermarché. Good luck - at least he had a collar on. Do you know where the chasse dog lives? He might be hanging around by there. Keeping everything crssed.

I've put a notice on the LIFT facebook site too. We traced the owners of a cat via facebook.

Find out the name of your local chasse president and ring him - he can ask his friends and fellow chasseurs if anyone has seen a black lab hanging around.

Thanks for the last - Stuart has just had a call from a lady near to Pliboux saying she saw a black lab and Chasse dog at about 1300hrs going towards Pliboux - please all bear this location in mind ..
