Lost Mobile Phone - La Pommeraie

crocus writes in General

Hi,
I have stupidly lost my brand new mobile phone, the last time I saw it, was at the Hope association book sale at La Pommeraie on Sunday morning, in my bag.
This is really a long shot but before I ring up to block card and phone thought I'd just check to see if anyone found a phone on Sunday.
It's an Alcatel, phone card SFR - rose pink, square, looks like a ladies compact. So new, I've only three n°s in it! Hope someone can help maybe you could ask your friends if you know they were at this venue. Thank you so much for reading.

Try ringing the 'phone, if an honest person has found it you could arrange to collect it. If it is a contract 'phone it's worth blocking the number, if it is PAYG, just put it down to experience and buy another!

Thanks for the advice, but yes I tried that and it went directly on to answer phone, so no joy there. As you say I think I'll just have to put this one down to experience (and be more careful in future!) It was a pay as you go and I had just installed it's first top up 35 euros for three months. Ugh I feel sick. At least it wasn't a smart phone but expensive enough all the same. I can have it all blocked, so it's of no use to anyone else but that's not much consolation. Anyway thanks again.

Might be worth explaing to SFR that the phone is lost or stolen and block it. You could ask if they would transfer any remaining credit to a new number,if it is just lost your 35 euros credit may still be intact.MM

Even with PAYG you should block it as soon as you realise it's missing so that the number is deactivated and no-one else can use it.

So far as no-one else being able to use it, according to my son there's no such thing with the crooks these days even if you report it ... :(

Hello to all who have replied by mail and here -Thanks for all your suggestions. It's not turned up, so I'm off to the gendarmes to report it lost/stolen. My son has cheered me up, by reminding me that as I bought the phone recently with my mastercard, it will be insured, so looking into that. As for blocking I don't know. The phone company say they can block if you have the IMEI N° (356389036839386) don't know if this actually works, but the paper work with the phone does say to make a note of the n° for this purpose. Anyway thanks again everyone - will be more careful in future!
