My much loved cat has been missing for about 5 weeks now. He is a grey, white, tabby male, castrated, was wearing a blue leather collar with his phone number and name (Minky) on the inside.

He has never strayed before from our previous home in Couturette, St Martin D'Entraiges 79110, between Chef-Boutonne and Melle. He is very friendly and affectionate.

We moved last year to rented accomoodation in Juille near Brioux-sur-Boutonne and then to another rental in Pied Chetif near Sompt (79110). I am wondering if he has tried to go back to these areas?

After the rentals we moved into our own home in Loubille (79110), this is where he has gone missing.

If you think you may have seen him please let me know. Please check your outbuildings.

STILL MISSING

I am miles away from you but hope you find him soon. Have you been back to all the places you have lived and put up posters etc etc? Visited the local vets etc etc? Sorry if you have already done this and I really hope he turns up safe and well.

Sorry to hear about your cat going missing i hope you find him soon.

You must go back to the places where you were staying before as he's more than likely gone back there - hopefully.

Last year we sold our house and moved in to rented, after 2 nights he went missing we found him at our old house a 1.5klms away. We brought him back and he never went missing again until we moved in to our new house 4klms away, he went missing for 3 nights, i had to go back to the rented property to pick up the remainder of our belongings and there he was sat on the step.We brought him back home and he hasn't gone missing since.

I don't know what distances you are away from previous homes but it's amazing how animals find their way home and sometimes a lot further than distance our cat went.

So may be and hopefully he's done the same.

thank you for your replies, it's encouraging to know that he could still turn up. I have been back to the houses but will go again tomorrow, although they are over 5km away, I'm don't know if he'd go that far? I have 3 cats and he is my favourite, always very loving, we had a little good morning routine everyday and I miss him, I just hope that where ever he is, he's okay. Thanks again.

I would definitely go back to the previous houses - 5km is nothing to a cat - their usual radius is around 12km and twice I have had to go back to our previous residence 3km by road to get ours back. Good luck

One of my cats went missing for 6weeks. We gave up hope, re-homed another kitten, & who should return the next morning meowing in the kitchen!!!!!! Looked terrible, broken claws, matted fur, thin etc. We came to the conclusion that hed fell asleep in a vehicle, woke up & got out miles away. But he did find his way home, dont give up!
