HiHow much should I be paying for a birth certificate translation can anyone tell me please? I seem to remember reading about this a couple of years ago as a topic on Anglo and it would appear I paid way too much when I had mine done and now other half needs his doing and don't want to make the same msitake.Any recommendations gratefully accepted! It must vary from dep't to dep't. We're in the Vienne and we've recently renewed our CMU registration and they just wanted photocopies of the originals. The same, last year, when our son got married out here they were happy with seeing the originals and having photocopies - no translations. I don't know whether the CPAM rules have changed recently but it is only a few weeks ago that we were there and now we've both got our new photo cards and attestation. Have you visited the CPAM office and asked why the need a translation and why they will not accept a copy?

Do you have an English speaking Notaire near you. They sometimes do it for free.

Hi, my good lady has just done hers with RSI. Copied the certificate and just translated the important bits such as date of birth, place of birth, etc had no problem and cost nothing.
