procedure for registering a newborn baby

can anyone tell me which authorities I need to register our daughter with, I am assuming CAF, RSI and mutuelle. Are there any others I have forgotten?

I think it is the done thing to let your local Maire but not legal. It will take quite a while for the new baby to appear on you carte vitale so be prepared that if they are not on it when you get to go to doctors appointment or vaccine purchasing you will have to pay for them and claim them back, the first vaccines are 90€. Best of luck with your new baby and enjoy the adventure.
