I am looking for a CTC type club which offers regular club bike rides that families can enjoy, so not racing, not exclusively male, not exclusively dressed in lycra!

No the law requires all bike riders to wear lycra . Lurid colours are not obligatory but should be chosen with care. Men and women of a certain age may be required to pass an inspection before being allowed out in public.
