I cannot get anyone to resolve the problem I am having with them.

In the UK, you could threaten to write a letter to your MP, but what can we do here to put a rocket up them?

It might help if you said what the problem is.

Calling them 'numpties' isn't gong to help either.

Blimey, how rude is that?  My French friend who works at the CPAM would love that.

State your problem.  Perhaps there's something you're not understanding about the 'problem' you're having with them rather than them being numpties.  In fact I'd put money on it, so if you explain a little instead of advising you how to 'put a rocket up them' we may be able to advise you of how to resolve the problem or indeed explain where we think it lies.

You are not in the UK, you are in France.  Presuming you are bilingual or at the very least fluent French speaking, you can Google the French forums to find out how to lodge a formal complaint which needs to be sent LRAR with all supporting documentation to the Président of your local CPAM.

If you are new to France and are having problems obtaining your carte vitale you've only just begun to learn what French bureaucracy is like ...

cpam do have an english speaking helpline and we have found them most helpfull. you might not get an answer to your question straight away, but they certainly do phone you back within a couple of days.
