Does anyone have a certificate of Conformity (CofC) for a UK caravan??? I am trying to register my  UK caravan in France. The Prefecture have returned the application twice, saying the CofC I have, is not in the correct format. I have contacted the UK manufacturer Elddis - who are very helpful - and they say they will try and put it in a format that the Prefecture would accept. Prefecture can't give me a copy of another one so I can pass to Elddis for them to use as a guide. I am stuck in the middle, can anyone with a Cof C for a caravan please help me???

Hi, when I registered my Coachman Amara, I got a CoC from Alko. They are the chassis makers, and that is what the DREAL will be interested in. They sent it in French and German and it weighed a ton! Sorry, I can't find their details at the moment, but you could try a search on the internet. You will also need a certificate from your local Bureau Veritas following a gas inspection - more money to pay out, but well worth it if you have a decent caravan. Good luck!

I think the Bureau Veritas inspection is only required for older caravans - certainly mine (2007) didn't need it My van was inspected at DREAL Angouleme and, after fitting a new weights plate, registered at the Prefecture.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the chasis is not Al-ko but BPW. I contacted them for help with a CofC and they never even replied.
