Hi, Does anyone know of any Free or even paid for WiFi access points in the Ruffec / Sauzé Vaussais / Villefagnan areas please?

I'm stuck with a dial-up connection that seems to get worse month by month, and I've just been hit by yet another humungous Windows update, this time nearly 50 MB, and impossible on dial-up!

I've tried every wrinkle I can think of to scupper it, but it keeps in firing up and crippling what miserable bit of bandwidth I've got!

I did find a couple of WiFi connections in Leclerc's car park in Ruffec, but both needed codes to hook up to, oh well, worth a try anyway!

I don't live in your area but here we have free access at the Intermarché and also McDonalds, as well as lots of local bars.  Good luck!!!

Ther are hotspot directories online.

Cestmoi, can you tell me what access codes/passwords you used to connect? Maillotdebain, those 'Hotspot' directories may as well be on the moon as far as my connection goes, so not a lot of help unfortunately, it's taken me near 20 minutes just to get to this reply!

Have you tried the mairie or the library? That's what a friend of mine in your shoes does.

McDonald's free Wi-Fi works for my Tablet in 17400 ant the LeClerc free Wi-Fi in the same area connected but gave a 'web page unavailable in the few minutes I tried - probably solvable.

'Guessing' your location you're unfortunately (?) over 40k from the nearest McD but ther's a LeClerc in Ruffect that may have Wi-Fi.

Otherwise pop over and use our network - I think you know who we are!

Railway stations are supposed to have them. Not tried them though so cannot guarantee.
