Paying in instalments

23904505 writes in Financial & Legal

OK, I've had my taxe Fonciere and taxe d'jabitation for this year (yuk) but I'd like to set up monthly payments for next year - which is something the tax authorities are obviously keen to promote.

However, what's mot so obvious is how you go about doing it.  Do I have to make a personal appearance at the tax office or is there a form I can download or fill in on line ???????

If you go to impots.gouv.fr you can set them up on-line.

When I moved I had to chase up my fonciere's etc repeatedly as I had not received them. I asked seveeral times had they by any chance sent them to a previous address? No they said but of course they ahd and when I finally tracked them down in a post box at a derelict property I then went back to my local office. I asked them again where my bills were. Had they sent them to the correct address, the wrong address perhaps?? No they said we have sent them to you. I then produced the dog eared demands and threats from my bag and put them on the table. The woman rather than being apologetic was furious that I had caught her out however due to all the time wasting, the fines they put on top I struggled to catch up with each fonciere so I just pay what I can each month. I've never had to set anything up. I just write a chq and post or go in person and pay cash. I have just about caught up with 500 owing on one year and the new one in. As long as you pay something regularly they wont touch you.

Thanks Penny 76, I don't suppose you'd happen to have the URL of the right page ?

You will need to sign into your account first, then go to "paiement des impôts" where you will see the list of payment options on the left hand tab...

OK, found it.  They don't exactly make it obvious, do they !!

Thanks to all who replied .....

hmmm, just be VERY careful about giving any French organisation 'direct debit' style access to your bank account though....
