Anyone able to shed light on why I suddenly cannot find any English Newspapers in the shops?

Usual problem, the price of papers are rising beyond inflation but the financial rewards for the workers are remaining stagnant. Hence the problem, " THE DISTRIBUTION WORKERS HAVE WITHDRAWN THEIR LABOUR IN FAVOUR OF BETTER REWARDS FOR THE WORK THEY CARRY OUT "

Or it could be they are so over-priced here they don't sell enough to make it worth stocking them.

Surely they can be read on line if you must have them?

Just Pam, you can read them online, go to 'British Media Online', that should give you a wide selection

I don't like online newspapers!  I like to have them in my hands, turn the pages, pause to do the crossword etc!  It is just not the same to read them on line - even if you print off what you can (not everything is available to print off).

I have never understood why they are so expensive out here - or why they can only be bought a day late!  This is France - the other side of the channel, not the other side of the world!  Spain is further away from UK, yet papers can be bought there on the same day they are printed and for much less!  Why?
