Hi All. A very good friend has just called to say his 3000 euro bill does not have to be paid. The reason for this outcome is because he quoted the international tax treaties Subject: new UK- FRANCE double taxation agreement. The new tax treaty between France and the UK came into force on 18/12/2009. It is applicable in France for the year starting on 1/1/2010 and in the UK for the year tax year starting 6/4/2010 It appears the French tax authorities are not taking the double taxation treaty onboard, but when challenged over this matter will conceed that the amount in question is not liable to be paid, so in conclusion, everyone who is worried about paying there prelevement, you have the law on your side. Good luck. Beejay
