Have all the documents needed (hopefully) just wondering if any fancy envelope was also needed to send the Carte Gris to us?

You need to take all of the documentation required to the prefecture who, if everything is in order, will issue you with a document showing the new registration number. You can get your plates made and fitted using this document as reference. The carte grise will arrive within a couple of days delivered by La Poste and you will have to sign for it. You do not need to provide an envelope for this.

Hi   I had to provide Birth and Marriage certificate and a SAE for the return of documents.  That was both at Limoges and Bellac.  When I went into the local newsagents and asked fshowed her what it was for and she just automatically gave me a long  envelope with stamp.   The SAE was needed all for all 3 cars we registered, the Birth and Marriage Certificate only for mine.   Ann

As RTB already said. No, lowe86 you do not need to supply an envelope.

Just returned having spent all morning in Poitiers Prefecture only to find that you now need a Quitus fiscal form to prove that no tax is owing on the vehicle so now have to do battle with the Impots in Civray and hope that something can be supplied - does make you wonder why we try and do everything by the book !!!

We  got our Quitus fiscal form in Ruffec it was very easy and cost nothing. Took about 10 minutes

We got ours from Angouleme and (as yorkshirepudding says) it cost nothing and took about 15 mnutes.
