We have just bought an English computer and have taken the external speakers from the old French computer fitted to the new all ok, but we cannot get any sound out of the old computers internal speakers, any ideas what to do? cheers.

Are you sure the old PC has internal speakers? 

You need to do into Control Panel, Sounds and select the other option for speakers as the one you are using was for external. This is usually automatic when you remove the external speakers which makes me think there are no internal ones, why not buy another set of external ones, they are quite cheap in the UK. 

Yes it has internal speakers and we thougt the same they would work automaticly, now there are so many options to choose from but all in French we have now got it working through earphones so its not so bad now, thanks for you reply.
