Tout Sweet - Hanging up my high heels for a new life in france. by Karen Wheeler

Published today, available form Amazon uk and Christies book shop in Gencay.

It tells in a very well written, witty narative the stuggles and strange liasions formed by the author in her first year of moving over here to start a new life. It will hit a cord with of us who have had silimar problems.

Very readable I could'nt put it down once I opened the front cover.

Well done Karen.

Goodness if it is only published today and you already read it before posting, it must have been either really good or really short.

I got my copy on saturday from Christies in Gencay.
It is a brilliant read very witty. I stayed up saturday night reading it!
For a first novel it is very well written. 340+ pages, rivitting!
I cannot complement it highly enough.

Officially the publication date is today, however it has been around in the UK bookshops for a few days - I know I own one (a bookshop I mean!) This is not unusual with books and should not be taken as a reflection on the quantity or quality of a book. And I've just started reading it and am about half way through - excellent book, very funny, well written and a great summer read. Would definitely recommend it.

Is it a factual book or fiction, is it a girly book or suitable for both sexes?

Hi Mick and Linda,

It is based on fact with a few added enbelishmests and some peoples charaters played up. Names changed to protect the innocent etc.

It is a sort of Brigid Jones let loose in the French countryside,
getting into a lot of funny situations with both ex-pat English and French locals alike, as she adjusts to a totally different way of life.

I found it very funny and laughed out loud a lot, I think it will appeal to both sexes.
