Winter Wonderland
As the year draws to an end, most bigger towns in France - and even some of the smaller ones - have "Christmas Villages" where you can buy seasonal foods (chestnuts actually roasting on an open fire, for example), the kids can ride on carousels or skate in the temporary ice rinks, and where you may see a live-animal crèche.
Out and about
Wrap up warmly and get out there to take a look at the various ways in which the Festive Season is celebrated. The only question is, "Where should we go first?" The answer: AngloINFO's comprehensive What's On Guide.
